My family have called on the services of Special Send Offs on a very difficult time. He was recommended by our friend, one of Mark's previous client. Nothing was too little or too much for him. He truly made, as his strap line says, a difficult time made a little easier and most of all, OUR way. From the moment of the first contact, we felt connected and we knew that our dad was going to be looked after with respect, love and care. His upfront and honest attitude means that we all knew what to expect with no embellishments (although his choice of words are always so comforting) so the decisions were easier to make, we appreciated it a lot. Mark handled all our needs at this sad time with great understanding. He is sensitive and caring. He provided great value combined with an excellent service in every way. We had no worries and were confident in Special Send-offs, professional in every way. He allowed us to have the day the way we wanted and gave great advice and support. Nothing was too much. All efforts were made to ensure great value and at no point did he try to get us to spend money on things we did not need. His prices are right and fair, far better than several others we discussed matters with. We can't compliment Special Send-offs enough. Absolutely top notch service, I can not recommend Mark enough. At a very tough time, he was happy to deal with as little or as much of the arrangements as we chose. Nothing was too much trouble. While cost is largely irrelevant during the time of loss, Mark was very quick to ‘read’ us and the type of thing we were looking for, and suggested several ways to help keep the budget sensible - the polar opposite of most of the funeral directors which we looked into at the time.read more

Whilst we were initially a little apprehensive about using an independent Funeral Director, our concerns were very quickly alleviated upon meeting Mark at Special Send Offs. Mark was extremely professional, understanding, respectful, and completely commited to giving my father in law the funeral that we all wished for and that we know he would of been extremely proud of. Even in the face of changes and specific requests, we were dealt with kindness, patience and understanding. Nothing was too much. Without any compromise, the cost (which sadly is often a contributing factor) was also significantly less than other companies. After a friend highly recommended Mark to me following the loss of their own father, I didn’t hesitate to contact him when my own father passed away. I have genuinely heard nothing but praise and thanks from anyone who has used this company. Mark truly let me choose exactly what I wanted for my dad’s service, there was no stuffiness or pompous behavior - but equally, there was ultimate respect throughout, with very down to earth honest discussions (he even asked what I would like him to wear on the day). I highly recommend ‘Special Send Offs’ to anyone who loses a loved one. Upon first entering my home Mark brought calmness, peace & hope to that saddest of days. He allowed me to play a part with great sensitivity in those final preparations of my partner leaving my home, this was both a privilege & helped me greatly during those first hours of grieving. Mark engaged with myself & the family members who wished to pay their last respects allowing us to do this several times, as & when we felt our need to do so, each time showing genuine respect, courtesy & kindness to each person. Mark gave his time willingly during all the planning & preparations taking extra time to listen so carefully to each & every detail, making helpful suggestions regarding anything I was unsure of & yet allowing me to make all the final decisions. Nothing was too much bother even when I made alterations. On the day of the funeral Mark was patient, kind & supportive, guiding us gently through the morning assisting me in making the most beautiful of send offs for my dearest partner. Everything was exactly as I had hoped & wished, so many friends & relatives commented it was the most lovely funeral they had ever attended. The following day Mark collected the ashes & delivered them personally to my home again with true compassion & caring. We cannot thank Mark enough for the excellent time and care he took with the funeral arrangements we needed to make. He was kind and considerate of the difficult situation, advising us objectively when needed, putting us in touch with both a florist and celebrant who were equally as professional and considerate. This resulted in an incredibly personal and fitting funeral for our much loved grandma which was hopefully exactly as she wanted.read more
